    on Christie Rinder

    VIDEO TRANSCRIPT

Christie calls and talks to Liz and Christie starts sort of yelling and screaming at Liz, saying that she’s a dupe and that she’s just being fooled and that Christie has the straight data. And she’s being vicious—neither Liz nor I had ever, ever, ever seen the viciousness that was displayed at this moment—ever, never, I’d never seen it. And it was like wow, here she is doing that, and I thought it was horrible. And I can remember telling my other children about it and they went “She did that to mom? She treated mom like that?” Nobody could believe it, it would be like “you’re lying.” I said, “No, I’m not lying, that’s what she did.” It was so unbelievably horribly disgusting.

What daughter treats a mom like that? It’s hard to even find one in literature, it’s hard to find one in history. It’s like nuts, people that are nuts, people that are wallowing around in the mire, that have lost their way and don’t have anything better to do than sort of strike out and lash out. And I mean, you lash out at the person who loves you the most? In the whole wide world, the person who loved her the most was her mom, clearly, and here she is, lashing out at her, publicly trying to humiliate her, just treating her like—horrible. And so yeah, a person who could do that, oh my goodness, that’s as low as it gets, isn’t it? That’s just terrible.

For her to go on TV and denounce me, and especially my wife, was unthinkable. We cared for her, we loved her, we were willing to do anything for her, but she says that we broke with her. No, we didn’t break with her. She wanted me to do something really, really stupid and it wasn’t going to happen, it wasn’t going to happen at all. She broke with me.

We had a great family, and we still have a really, really, really good family. We see my son twice a month, and calls us if something is going wrong in his life, “Dad! Blah, blah, blah, blah.” “Oh yeah? Well this…” You know? We’re tight, we are a good, close wonderful family and we all follow Scientology. Christie didn’t have to follow Scientology if she didn’t want to, but she couldn’t just sort of dump on us or pull this kind of stuff. This isn’t any part of being a good family, this isn’t a part of being a loving daughter, this isn’t part of being a good sister to her brother or her other sister. This is hater stuff, this is destructive.

I didn’t see or hear too much more about her life, and what little teeny bit I heard would be like “Oh, my goodness.” I heard that her ex-husband was doing drugs and he was doing this and it was worse than that, and some of her friends that were now her friends, they were doing drugs. She came from an environment where nobody did drugs, not one person. We don’t do drugs, we don’t need drugs. Without drugs we are as happy as we can be. And she’s with a group of people now that are using dope and marijuana and lord knows what else. So I didn’t have much more to do with her or hear too much more about her life.
